Dover Police Records People Search

Crime reports are for victims only. A victim's copy is free. You must walk in with a photo ID. Call 736-7105 first to check that the report is ready. For minor children, a custodial parent or legal guardian can pick up the report. For a deceased victim, next of kin can pick one up with proof. Non-victims need a court subpoena.

Crash reports cost $25. Drivers or owners of vehicles in the crash can ask for a copy. Insurance firms can too, with a written request and payment. Call (302) 736-7106 to check that the report is ready. Traffic tickets and Dover city ordinance summons are free if lost or misplaced. You must walk in with a photo ID for a copy.

Fees can be paid over the phone with a credit card before pickup. The Records Unit also takes checks, money orders, and cash in person. The department also puts out annual reports, crime stats, and a crime map on its site. Sex offender info is linked to the state registry.

Note: Police records in Delaware are not open under FOIA. Only victims listed on a report can get the victim's copy. Other requests need a subpoena.
